About ABA Therapy Services

Common Behaviors Addressed in ABA and the Roles of RBTs, BCaBAs, and BCBAs

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on improving socially significant behaviors. Some of the most commonly targeted behaviors include:

  • Communication deficits

  • Aggression and self-injury

  • Tantrums and noncompliance

  • Difficulties with transitions

  • Repetitive or restrictive behaviors

  • Social interaction challenges

  • Toileting and self-care skills

  • Academic readiness and learning skills

To achieve effective and timely results, ABA therapy involves a structured team approach:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and overseeing the overall intervention process. They ensure that therapy is evidence-based, ethical, and tailored to each client’s needs.

  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) work under the supervision of a BCBA to assist in designing interventions, monitoring progress, and adjusting strategies when necessary.

  • Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) are the professionals who implement the therapy directly with the client. They follow the BCBA’s treatment plan closely, collect data during sessions, and provide consistent, compassionate care on a daily basis.

This collaborative model ensures that interventions are continuously adjusted based on data, allowing for faster, more meaningful progress and long-term success.
